Records Fall, Or Reset, In Second Peter Island-Athlon
On Saturday, the BVI Triathlon Federation hosted several events at Peter Island Resort to raise money for the Family Support Network organisation.
The event featured a triathlon, an aquathon and Zumba. The triathlon consisted of a 1,000-metre swim, a five-mile bike ride and a four-mile run. There was also a team division. The aquathlon featured a 400-metre swim and a two-mile run. After the adult divisions finished, there was a youth event, which consisted of a 50-metre swim, an 800-metre bike and a 100-metre run.

For 2015, the BVI Triathlon Federation has added a new event – Try VG – and the ‘Four Islands Cup’ – a ‘best of five’ points series with Garmin prizes for the top three mens and ladies individuals.

The second annual Peter Island-Athlon took place on Saturday, June 14, with a host of swimmers, runners, riders, walkers, and zumbas, heading over to the exclusive resort for a morning of action-packed athletic activity to raise funds for the Family Support Network (FSN). $1660 was raised for FSN and records were set on the courses that are now set in stone for future triathlon and aquathlon endeavours on the island.

The Peter Island-Athlon taking place on June 14 will include a triathlon as well as a Aquathlon (swim/run). In addition to having a great time at Peter Island, the purpose of this event is to raise money for the Family Support Network charity.
