Murphy Defends Her Crown, Stephenson Wins His First In 2021 Steelman
In the 2021 BVI Steelman at Beef Island, Johanna Murphy defended her BVI Steelman crown, while Mark Stephenson earned his first. Murphy completed the course in 2 hrs 45 minutes and 58 seconds, while Stephenson finished with a time of 2:37.44.

Mitchell & Ruscheinski Defend National Champ Titles
In the 2017 National Sprint Champs, Dan Mitchell and Tash Ruscheinski successfully defended their 2016 mens and ladies titles. Shane Donovan was second, and Rob Mayo-Smith was third in the mens division. Cat Ouriach was second in the ladies division.

Rawlinson & Hunter Win Corporate Cup In TSC Tri
Rawlinson & Hunter made a big splash on their debut appearance in the Corporate Cup sweeping to victory nearly 10 minutes faster than the second place team KPMG 1 with last year’s winners Deloitte 1 coming in third. The attendance for this year’s event was spectacular with eight teams in the Cup including previous winners Ogiers and Appleby and a first time appearance from Walkers consisting of team entirely new to triathlon finishing in an impressive fourth place.

Brewer’s Bruiser
Wild, wet and windy conditions at the Brewer’s Bay Aquathon saw the field slim down to the “diehards” of BVI aquathon with the testing encounter boiling down to intense duels between running queen Kay Reddy and newcomer Rachel Mayo Smith in the ladies event, and super tuff Adrian “John McClane” Dale and the Chorpedo, Antony Spencer.

Virgin Gorda Aquathon Moves To Tortola!
The Virgin Gorda Aquathon, taking place on October 16, will now be held at Brewer’s Bay, Tortola! The race, second event in the 2016 Aquathon Championships, will start at 4pm. A kids event will follow at 5.30pm.

The BVI Triathlon Federation is introducing the 2016 Aquathon Championships, a three event series, which will see the first national aquathon champions crowned. The first event takes place at Smuggler’s Cove on Saturday, September 24th.

BVI triathlon saw two new national champions with breakthrough performances by Tash Ruscheinski and Dan Mitchell. Both ladies and men’s races came down to the wire with in each case a strong runner trying to catch a strong swimmer.
